At the border of the working-class quarter of La Mariola -with a well established gipsy community- and the upper-class district around Lleida football stadium is our school: INS Ronda, a meeting point for two cultures that more often than not are miles away from each other. A minority of immigrants from different European, African, and Latin American countries add to the school’s local colours. As we know, coexistence between different cultures is not always easy, but the school does its best to immerse the newly arrived in the Catalan language and culture, thus facilitating their access to the normalized curriculum.

Amidst this linguistic and cultural melting pot, our school outstands in offering its students a variety of exchange programmes abroad, Orator projects and participation in Comenius/Apia projects, as well as a full range of long-awaited school trips to several Spanish and European destinations. Languages taught at the school are French, German and English, and we believe part of their success is highly linked to the possibility of visiting the countries where these languages are spoken, and getting to know real people in their surroundings.

The school is also involved in a number of educational projects. We are UNESCO School and we have therefore taken an interest in joining UNESCO initiatives like the Green Schools project or the Western Mediterranean project (PMO). With our present Comenius project Music, a vehicle of cultural identity, we hope to enjoy the experience of cultural exchange and make lots of new friends! For a more detailed description of the school premises follow the link below. The Prezi was prepared by the students involved in the Comenius project:
